WHAT IS WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP?
World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) is an international academic competition for students aged 8-18 around the world. Considered a prestigious international playground, World Scholar’s Cup offers students the opportunity to connect globally. They will interact, learn and make friends with many talented students from more than 70 countries and territories around the world.
The competition is also a golden opportunity for the journey to hunt for scholarships to study abroad because the World Scholar’s Cup medal is always highly appreciated by the world’s leading universities such as the US, UK, Germany, Canada… when considering admission.
Through the debate competition, children are able to cultivate the necessary skills of a future leader such as teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, debating and practice English skills at a high level.
Especially through the process of researching, learning, evaluating and synthesizing information to come up with correct arguments, children will expand their knowledge thanks to attractive social issues from the World Scholar’s Cup.
RULES AND FORMAT OF WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP COMPETITION
Students participate in the World Scholar’s Cup in teams of 3 members each and are divided into groups:
- Primary from 8-11 years old
- Junior 12-14 years old
- Senior from 15-18 years old
There are 6 subjects including: Science, History, Social Studies, Literature, Art & Music and Special Area.
And 4 official competitions for you to show your talent:
- Scholar’s Bowl : Teams work together to answer questions and challenges that increase in difficulty and are time-limited.
- Scholar’s Challenge: This is a multiple choice test, where candidates can choose more than one answer for each question. However, the fewer answers with a high probability of being correct, the higher the score.
- Collaborative Writing: The organizers will give 6 arguments, each argument is from a different field, 3 contestants from each team will choose 3 arguments to defend or oppose. Contestants have 30 minutes to prepare with the team, 60 minutes to write an essay and the last 15 minutes to discuss in groups and complete.
- Team Debate: After the topic is announced, each group will use their computers to research and find materials for 15 minutes. Each group will debate three times for 4 minutes, with topics ranging from social policy to poetry.
The competition consists of 3 rounds: Regional Round is held in major cities in each country. Global Round is held in cities in each region and Final Round – Tournament of Champions usually takes place in November at Yale University (USA).
CONQUER THE WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP 2023 WITH 2G EDUCATION AND VADP
In order to help students in Nghe An and Ha Tinh compete with international friends and prepare thoroughly for the World Scholar’s Cup 2023, 2G Education cooperates with VADP – Vietnam Academy of Debate and Rhetoric to launch the only training program in Nghe An & Ha Tinh: Conquering the World Scholar’s Cup 2023.
With more than 10 years of experience developing debate in Southeast Asia in general and 4 years of accompanying the World Scholar’s Cup Competition in particular; the team of Coaches will confidently train and guide students with an international standard debate curriculum focusing on 4 main skills: Academic Reading – Critical Thinking – Rhetoric – Debate.
In particular, the coaching team has in-depth consulting and participation as a Board of Judges at the WSC Regional rounds in Hanoi, thereby firmly grasping the Competition Rules & Debate Format of the WSC competition & providing direct 1-1 consulting for the competing teams on the competition floor during the competition days.

WSC 2023 TRAINING PROGRAM INFORMATION
The 60-hour course “Conqueror’s Wife WSC 2023” is expected to open and includes:
+ Part 1 (hereinafter referred to as “Debate Class”) includes 30 teaching hours, equivalent to 10 3-hour sessions, on basic debate knowledge. Part 1 will start on March 4, 2023 and last for 10 weeks from the start date with 1 session per week.
+ Part 2 (hereinafter referred to as “Subject Class”) includes 30 teaching hours, equivalent to 10 3-hour sessions, on general knowledge of the subjects of the WSC competition. Part 2 lasts for 10 weeks from the starting date with 1 session per week.
Unlimited Essay Corrections and 1-1 Mentoring for Students in the Regional Round of the World Scholar’s Cup in Hanoi on May 6-7, 2023.
